Not going out.

Postby Workingman » 25 Jun 2015, 15:33

The gas mains are eventually being done and we have had cards through the door this afternoon saying that the gas will go off "temporarily" tomorrow... sometime.... whenever, and that it will come back on... sometime.... whenever. Could we please make provision for the engineer to come in and turn us off and on.

Thanks chaps, but 24 hrs notice will not be enough for some neighbours to make those "provisions" so what happens?

It looks like many of us will be forced into "Not going out".

Knock on the door at 7:10 am

Gas comes back on "in the afternoon". So that's sometime from midday to 6 pm.

4:40 pm the gas was reconnected.

I could have had a day out if the gas blokes had been a bit more honest about the work. The mains men left at about 3:30 pm and the reconnection team arrived about an hour later.
