I posted about Tunisia because........ I love Barbados been many times now but we have realised that rather than keep going somewhere that we do love but have seen all there is to see, ..now is the time to widen our horizons.

Since the last Barbados we have seen CRETE...TUNISIA..MADEIRA..TENERIFE.. MALTA&GOZO.

Our next trip health permitting will again be somewhere new, my only request is sunny and warm these days, and good food and a comfy bed.

I doubt we will get away this year as buying the bungalow without selling our old home, plus, all the thousands we have spent on here furnishings repairs and the gardens mean it is time to tighten our belts and try and save a bit from our pensions every month so we can afford one at least next year and our aim again health permitting is two holidays a year to widen our experiences.

When Kath and I married she lived in Blackpool and had never even been to London on the train, her first trip anywhere was when she came to the Isle of man in a group of 22 anglers to fish a competition, the rest is history lol.

Manxie xx

edited to add.

From here to go anywhere we have to add either flights and hotels either side of the holiday or boat and hotels so a holiday for us adds at least £200 per person to the costs, often much more depending on the seasonal changes to fares and demand for hotels near the airport of departure, last holiday from Gatwick cost us £180 each return to fly to the uk and home then the hotel was about £80 a night and taxies to and from Gatwick was about £38 each way if I remember correctly.
It also makes a 2 week holiday into three weeks with 4 days travelling and overnight stops.

I'm hoping that Mick and I will be able to travel all over when he retires Manxie but at the moment he can only take a week at a time, as he has far too much stuff to deal with when he gets back if he takes longer - when we got back from that week in Cyprus at Easter he had over a thousand work emails waiting for him  :( He really really needs the rest, to relax, and if we went somewhere we didn't end up liking it wouldn't be very relaxing ;) :x

We have both travelled a bit already - I've been to a fair few European countries (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, the Balearics, The Canaries) and Mick has travelled and even worked in many parts of the world, including Africa, the Far East, and the Caribbean in his engineering days :)

Oh how fabulous!!! :D :D

We're heading over to Ibiza soon as you know, and I really can't wait for the total relaxing and being away from everything here at home....I don't think you are boring one bit for returning to Corfu....we went to Lanzarote loads because we knew the area and loved the hotel, so totally get where you are coming from :D :D

Hope youo can get booked, having some 'couple' time is very important xxxx

i think its great to go some were quiet and relaxing
we never liked clubs and night life a walk along the sea front or a river was always enough
and if you go away and have no car you have no hassle to park etc even in the uk

do your own thing kaz and enjoy
