Thought I'd be doing a Debih

Postby miasmum » 27 Apr 2015, 19:19

Had a letter today from Aviva.

Dear Mr and Mrs W

It would appear during your time with us, we inadvertently took more money than we should and did not adjust your pay out cheque accordingly. We are obviously extremely sorry for this and attached is a cheque for your overpayment........

so my mind starts thinking, oh what shall we buy, where shall we go......

then I get the cheque out..............

Ready...........

I've been spending more of ours over the weekend.

A new mattress and I've booked two nights away and a visit to Harry Potter in September.

Just my car repair to pay for on Wednesday and I'll squirrel it away. Going to look at putting quite abit in premium bonds.

Yes, interesting isn't it ... just depends on the product. :)

A lady I worked with a few years back got a mis-selling claim against Barclays I think it was - and got something around £8k-£10k from memory.

At the same time, I had a claim against a company associated with HSBC ............... and got £120!

Still, big or small, any unexpected windfall is welcome. As Ton said, enjoy a meal out! :D

L and I have been before - we went on a school trip when she was in Yr 6. It was amazing. They have new things there now (the platform and train) and we want to go and see that and I know that Mick and S want to go to.

Not a cheap day out though - £101 for a family of four. And I know its really expensive for anything you buy in there. I shall be taking lots of snack things (it'll be difficult to take a proper packed lunch as we are staying overnight the night before). We didn't go in the gift shop before (we marched all the children straight through) but a couple of us adults stopped to look at something and it was really expensive. The gift shop is huge and you have to walk right through it to get out!!!!!

and the cheque is payable to both of us, so I will probably have the aggravation of sending it back to be reissued. Blimey really wish they'd never bothered to be honest
