I've been and measured it this morning - on top of the fence where it was clear yesterday. 20cm. 20cm.

And thats not counting what was already down.

And it was raining at 3am.

I might hibernate today.

There was about five inches of snow on the car this morning. I have cleared the snow off the drive and across the pavement onto the road.
Have had to go out again as snow has fallen off the roof on the flags outside the front door. Lovely and sunny now and the snow is slowly melting. Spoke to a man this morning who had been stuck on the M6 last night. He said it was terrible not being able to move for many hours. It is near where I live.

I have just come back from the Co-op and the paths are deadly. The snow that fell last night, about 4 inches, is beginning to thaw but it has laid on top of pure ice from the really cold days and the mix if water and ice is not the best combo.

The promised snow overnight never materialsed, as far as I know. And it's thawed here rapidly today. Most roofs are virtually clear, even the north facing ones like on our garage are half clear. The local road which was pretty much all compacted snow and ice is half clear as well, as are the lawns. Just so long as it doesn't freeze tonight ....
