Although there were two tracks cleared on the lane so that cars could get up and down, there was at least 6 inches before this lot started coming down.

I went out about half an hour ago to take a photo and I have just looked out the window and you can't even see my footprints any more.

Watching the weather report it seems to give it hanging around most of tomorrow and then rain (and no doubt ice) setting in late tomorrow night.

The main A6 is not passable. I can see it from S's bedroom window and there is nothing moving on there at all.

I've just been out and measured it again (aren't I sad). 8 inches now and thats just in the area that I cleared yesterday so I hate to think how deep it is on the snow that hadn't already been cleared. There must be at least a foot now.

And its still coming down really fast.

I'm going to go to bed and hope that its all gone by the time I wake up (wishful thinking I know). Mick is out in it. A group of them have gone to a friends house lower down in the village to play pool. So he will have to battle his way home later - but then again he lived in the Antarctic for 3 years so this bit of snow will be nothing!

One of our neighbours has just posted on Facebook that she's just come from Wolverhampton, 10 miles away, where it's raining, two miles down the road they have sleet and then she's got home to find it snowing heavily

It's not quite as bad as I thought. I got my inches and centimetres mixed up.

Just measured it again - it's just over 10cm now.

Not quite so bad, but still a fair amount!
Did the grit bin get filled today?

Useless, they knew this snow was forecast for today too so it should've been a priority.

Rained most of the night, now it's stopped and it is damp and mild out there! To think you are only about 40/50 miles up the road from me Jo, that's extraordinary really :?
