Please veiw my computers post

here and pass it to anyone you know may be impacted.

Last night Symantec pushed out an update to their entire anti virus community which causes IE to crash immediately when you open it. I've posted some work arounds to get anyone impacted back and running again. But, of course, if there are VV users who use IE and Norton and don't have a second browser, they are going to be cut off until Norton fixes the mess.

Sadly everyone already has the problem who has run their LiveUpdate. Hopefully I can get a few out of it. My own computer was trashed this morning but it runs 24x7 so got the update whilst I was sleeping.

Symantec has fixed it. Probably just pulled the update. All anyone needs to do is make the Symantec product update and it will be fixed...

yep I didn't even get a chance to fix my home computers.

I guess when you break tens of thousands of companies and tens of millions of users, you have to respond fairly quickly...

God stuff bringing this up, Suff,

When I saw it I went looking and by the time I got there it was fixed, but....

It's not the first time Symantec/Norton has done this.

I use Bing , not IE. so I presume it doesn't affect me.

Aggers, Bing is a search engine, similar to Google, and is usable in any browser, it is not a browser in itself - as yet.

The most popular browsers, the software allowing you to view the Internet, are IE, Firefox, Chrome, Avant and Opera, and there are many others.

If you were not using a combination of Norton Security products and Internet Explorer, IE, you will not have been affected. And, anyway, the problem is now resolved.
