Kate - I must say I am so sorry that doubts have been fostered regarding your new acquisitions.

I'm sure you will make a good home for your pets, and I am pleased that your vet's report is good.

We had a crate for Prince when he was younger, and he was quite happy with it. If he seemed nervous
about anything we used to drape an old blanket over it to make a den or 'safe haven' for him and he loved it.

(Hugs for you and for Oscar)

Thanks John and every one for your advice and good wishes, Oscar has the same markings as yours, He is teething, I bought him a nice sized teddy bear today with hard toys he can chew on other than my trouser legs and wellies..I will remove the eyes, he is snuggled up asleep by it at the moment.. Will ask Gusty to take some pictures I cannot even get my own pic on VV dont know how I will manage to get Oscars on!!.

A whole raw carrot is good for teething - Minnie's still addicted to carrots :)

Wow thats a good one!!!but dont you think he too young to chew on a carrot, I would be frightened he would choke. But if you think it's safe I will try him on one.. he is a right little tyke, Gusty's is so much more docile has been taken under Ruby's wing, she was evidently pregnant at ten months she had them removed and was spade.. She thinks Louie is her baby!!! Lovely to see so gentle and loving, but then I believe dogs refelct their owners..

When Millie was a puppy we bought her one of those Kong things. One of these but smaller

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0002AR164/r ... wo=&hvqmt=

We used to put little dog biscuits inside it and then put a thick layer of cream cheese in it at the top and freeze it. Then, when we went out we would give it to her in her cage and it would keep her entertained, first of all licking the frozen cream cheese out of it and then trying to get the dog biscuits out.

We also found with Millie that she was very quickly toilet trained because she was in a crate - they don't like to mess in their crates. We would use the crate whenever we went out and at night time but also during the day for nap times so that she didn't come to associate going in the crate with us going out.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!

I have to see a cardeologist tomorrow morning at 10.15 so early rise, Gus is bringing Louie in his cage with us. Oscar will remain here with Barney, my home help comes at 12.a.m so she will give him his second feed. ah the joys of motherhood!!!!

Billy loves his Kong too - Kate, you can get puppy sized ones. He likes it with cream cheese or peanut butter and I still give it to him with a smearing of one or the other in it when I go out. Otherwise he likes to just throw it around the kitchen as they bounce in random directions.
