That looks like one substantial tree blocking the road, Debih. It's probably best left to a team who know what they are doing rather than Mick and his chainsaw.

I am not saying that he is not competent, but if owt goes wrong nobody can get in to help and nobody can get out.

The tree people were called and are in the process of removing it.

Wow it looks gorgeous

It is lovely Gal. But boy do we get invaded by tourists from April to October. A five minute car journey into Matlock can easily take two hours on a bank holiday!!!!

And locals completely avoid "the front" (where all the shops are) at weekends as you often can't get on the pavements it's so busy. There's no shops for us down there anyway, other than the general store.

I think there is around 200 houses in Matlock Bath and we have a railway station, 2 theme parks (gullivers Kingdom and heights of Abraham), 6 pubs, 1 italian restaurant, at least 20 fish and chip shops, 1 chinese restaurant (foul), 1 Indian restaurant (lovely), 6 amusement arcades, 15 coffee shops and numerous shops selling tat. And 1 practical shop selling papers, general food stuff, etc.

It's a weird old place to live!

We had about an inch on the estate but there were a few inches up on the common and it's sticking around up there, much to Billy's delight!

It's a good thing we're just a couple of miles from the town. We have two useless little shops (one of which has a post office counter), an Indian restaurant (really fab food), a chippy, a 'local' pub and the lovely pub/restaurant/hotel which our neighbour co-owns.

No snow here yet, but the frost was so thick this morning that it almost looked like it

My Boxing Day footie match finished in a torrential blizzard here in Birmingham - they changed the ball from a white one to a yellow one in the second half, not that it was any more visible under the floodlights in the snowstorm, and the pitch markings had virtually disappeared under the settled snow by the end of the game. Driving home was not pleasant. But by the following morning, it had all gone.

Now, the last couple of days, it's just been very frosty, making the pavements treacherous where the sun hasn't caught them. We're leaving the central heating on overnight .....
