Mind the gaps!

Four teams are chasing Championship promotion to the prima donna league - the gap grows.
Then two of them will drop to the play-offs where another gap and six teams are waiting for them.
The best league in football? Yes, by a country mile.

Mind the gap indeed - 11 points gap between fourth and fifth.
Personally if rather see automatic promotion for the top three. Play-offs always seem so unfair.

You have it Jo.
The top four seem set, but with a good run any of the next ten could be in the play-offs and get promoted. Then what?
Go up, come down, get a parachute payment, go again.
The top of the Championship looks more like the Premier League Mk 2.

Frank you are good at this sort of thing. Who were the last team to get promoted to the prem and stick around and do well? I know Villa have. They went down for a couple of seasons then struggled the first year, but pretty much ok now. But they were a prem team I am thinking of teams like Ipswich that have been out of the prem for a good few years
I listen to the Daily Ipswich podcast and they were saying if yet again the 3 promoted teams go straight back down, something has to be looked at. It is a ridiculous situation and pretty much pointless. If teams like Southampton and Leicester with fairly recent prem experience cant do it, what hope do the rest of us have?
And yes loved the Championship, fantastic balanced league

Forest are doing well, it’s not long since they were promoted.
Bournemouth went up 2015ish iirc, went down again but came back up and are doing well.
Brighton must’ve come up around that time too and I think they’ve stuck around since.
