F1 Timo Glock leaves Marussia.

For the chaps here

F1 Timo Glock leaves Marussia.

Sorry Shell, I know that he is one of your boys.

He was on a salary and Marussia need sponsorship, so he is going to DTM.

This was bound to happen once the expenses cap didn't materialise as expected. It has already done for HRT and there is the suspicion that Marussia might not complete the season.

Sad.

Thanks Bernie.

Oh no    he never really got a chance to show how good he could be. I was hopeful he might go to Sauber but even they have gone the big bucks way, which makes me sad.

Take care Timo, I will try and follow you on DTM (all my drivers end up in DTM)

Avatar! You big softee. ;)

There is now a pretty certain rumour that Ross Brawn is leaving Mercedes - business politics.

If it is true I sure hope that Sir Frank Williams is on the phone to him. I really, really do want to see Williams up at the top again and RB could be the man as Team Engineer, but not Team Principal.

I know I decided to celebrate him for a week.

Would Williams be able to afford Brawn?

Probably not, but it's a nice dream. However, he's not likely to go to Ferrari, Red Bull or McLaren so he would have to drop down wherever he goes. Caterham would be another dream.

RB might just retire, but if he wants a challenge there are plenty out there.

April 1st comes early!

There was a time when F2 or F3000 champions migrated to F1 because they were good, and the lower formulas were the breeding grounds - progression.

Now it is largely down to sponsorship, and we all know that.

F1 would be more realistic if teams had a rookie pick, similar to American Football.
