New clothes!

Postby Diflower » 28 Jul 2013, 14:43

It's all very well being the disappearing woman, but I've been struggling a bit finding things to wear that don't look like someone else's clothes :) You don't look much slimmer if you're wearing too-big crops and baggy tops ;)

Not much money to spare but today I went to Edinburgh Woollen Mill and in their sale bought a pair of nice thin denim cropped trousers (size 10!), a pretty, pastel striped t-shirt, and a plain white cotton jumper. I went knowing they did the plain cotton jumpers, perfect for cooler late summer evenings, and luckily they were in the sale :)
Then in my favourite charity shop I found a lovely M&S white linen skirt (size 10 petite  ) and a pair of Boden lined linen crop trousers (bizarelly, size 14!). And I only spent £38 :)
Very pleased, as it's all my crops/trousers that are now too big - suddenly it's my butt that's disappeared :D
A shame that the very nice M&S linen blouse, blue & white pattern, went beautifully with the skirt, fitted perfectly but was about an inch too low at the front :( But I shall look out for something similar :)

Well done you.

I too have lost a bit off my waist and hips - not much though! I now find all my jeans, crops and shorts are baggy. I can take them off without unfastening them! The charity shop is going to do well. The problem is it will take a small fortune to replace that lot and I have only lost a bit as I said.

This dieting lark is no good.

It's only a couple of inches or so Rodo, I guess some inches count more than others :D

Oh how nice is that, going down a size or so? :D :D 8-) You've worked hard Di and deserved to treat yourself - and what a bargain haul you got there 8-) :D :D

What a shame about the blouse, I suppose a cami underneath would not look quite 'right'? :? xxx

No it wouldn't Kaz, it looked lovely just as it was. Besides, I hate wearing another layer :)
I put on a top this morning and wondered why I was so hot, it's very light and airy. Checked the label and it's viscose and polyester
For once I must have forgotten to check when I bought it, I had to take it off, couldn't bear wearing it.
