Why......

.....do they fill the shops with autumn clothing in July, in blazing temps????? I popped into Primark to buy both myself and B some more of their cropped linen trousers....only £8 and in great colours - white, black, khaki, stone. I bought myself a couple of pairs a few weeks weeks ago, in the white and stone and they are so useful in this weather that I wanted the other colours for me, and B wanted some in black. They are all out of every colour except in sizes 6 and 8 (I wish) and I was blithely informed that they don't expect any more in "now the autumn stuff is in"

Rails and rails of 'pleather' trousers and jackets, long sleeved blouses, jumpers and jeans, macs ad jackets - and dozens of people clad in next to nothing in temps of almost 90 degrees trying to buy summer clothes...... :| :|

Absolutely ridiculous!

I had a quick look in Peacocks this morning, they've got some nice tops, didn't look at trousers.
I have some of the Primark ones Kaz, think I bought them about 3 or 4 years ago, they'd only been worn on holiday but are now toooooo big

Yes they do stretch out.......you can hot wash the white ones to shrink them back down a bit though ;)

The buyers probably got caught out last summer as we didn't have one so bought the same amount this year based on last year's sales. The stores must be kicking themselves because they could have sold more stuff over and over again this year.

This has always annoyed me!
As a July baby I'd want to spend my birthday money on clothes but by late July all that's in the shops is sale leftovers or Autumn wear - nothing really that could be worn immediately

Kaz I tried them again yesterday but didn't have to undo them to get them on, don't think they'd shrink that much
At the moment I often look like I'm wearing someone else's clothes :D

Wow, you have done sooo well on this fasting regime Di 8-) ............my sister is back on it again and losing 1lb for every day on it, so 2lbs per week 8-) :D

It was just that my Monsoon white linen full length trousers stretch right out with wear but come in really snug again with a hot wash so I thought it might help with yours, but as you say they won't shrink that much! 8-) :D

We tried Primark again, no more of the trousers in so the lady was right, but got B a couple of tops. Although supposedly for autumn and long sleeved they are sheer so still good for summer evenings or cooler days :) Oh and more of the ubiquitous leggings........
