Hair colourants

Has anyone any idea if a cheaper Boots own brand of hair colour is less effective than, say, Nice n Easy?

I have used Boots colour for a long time, interspersed with whatever they have on offer, sometimes Nutrisse and sometimes L'Oreal. The last colour I used was their own, but my parting didn't seem to take as well, and for the last couple of weeks I am conscious that my white roots are showing more than they should, so I have redone them today, and I can still see that they are a paler colour than the rest!! :|

Is it really a case of brand names being better than own brand? :(

I think so :( It's probably something where it is better to pay a couple of pounds more to get a better result xxx

Yes I'm starting to think so....

Oh well roll on next month!! LOL

I might even see if I can get one with golden/coppery highlights in it :)

You said you'd used it for a long time Gal so maybe they've changed it, or just an iffy batch?
I always used either Garnier or Nice n easy depending on offers, but a couple of months ago got Superdrug's own as it was buy 1 get 2 free which was too good to resist ;)
It seems fine, just the same as Nice n Easy :)

Thanks both - I have inspected it very carefully and I don't think it has been a waste....in certain lights I can see no grey/white at all, but what I can see is that my parting is a bit lighter blonde than the rest of my hair, so perhaps the white bits are the colour the box is meant to be, and the rest is how it is when colour after colour is applied

I have to add that I only leave it on the ends for about 5 minutes, the roots get about 25! ;)
