Thanks to Cosmopolitan mag I treated myself to a makeup lesson at Joan Price's face place :)
It was brilliant, and I still have the brushes I bought :D

:D My friend at the Dior counter gave me few good tips on applying a good base, and then recently at that photo shoot I got some ideas for eye makeup, especially helpful on the eyebrows 8-) :)

oh my make-up bag certainly doesnt contain that much!

I have my little bag that goes with me everywhere, in it: coconut lip balm from body shop and a no7 lipstick which I just noticed it nearly done, I also have paracetamol, kirby grip for hair, rennie and hayfever tablets ;)

In my bag at home:
concealer stick thingy
powder/sea mineral foundation with brush
pressed powder
3 mascara's all I am showing signs of allergy, no7 one is new so trying that out
a few lipticks
eyeshadows - various colours, silver, pinks, beige - I rarely put on some silver
tweezers for eyebrows

think thats it!

I seriously need a lesson on eyeliner as I feel my eyes need it, when I see photo's or look in mirror I think I could do with something, so might pop into Debehnams one day and ask for advice, my niece is doing beauty at college but last time she done it, it was too thick and I didn't like it!

fussy moo I am!

Never really been into make up, I do have BB cream but never used it lol!

xx

BB cream is great :)

The eyeliner thing, try with a pencil, draw a line round the lash line then smudge it with a brush ;) ;) Softer than a thick line, more natural xx

My eyes tend to run a lot due to allergies, air conditioning, being out in windy weather etc and not even waterproof mascara would stay put (and I tested many) so I tried dying my lashes - they're quite fair - a year ago and was really pleased with the results so that's what I do now and just put a coat or two of clear mascara on to define them a little.

I'm glad you mentioned dyeing eyelashes Jo, you've said before you did it, I really should look into that it might make quite a difference since I do still have decent lashes :)
Can you help with what to buy, and any tips for applying etc?

Poll eyeliner is terrific :) On the top, go right into the inner corner, but on the bottom, only start in the middle and go to the outer edge. And as Kaz said, then smudge it a bit. Superdrug have little packs of very cheap foam 'brushes', they're ideal for the smudging ;)
Rimmel kajal liner (brown) is perfect, nice and soft and cheap to boot :D

Edited to add - you have such pretty eyes Poll, your new haircut is a perfect excuse to have a go ;)

My make up bag wouldn't even add up to 22.20

One rimmel mascara
One No 7 lipstick
One No 7 foundation
One No 7 blusher
Superdrug blusher brush

and thats the lot

I never carry any make up with me. It goes on in the morning for work and that is it.

Weekends I don't wear any

Sorry Di, I've only just seen this :)
I use the Colorsport 30 Day Mascara dye, and it's tricky to apply with the applicator they provide (a tiny plastic stick) so I use a clean mascara wand. The box I'm using was bought and opened a year ago and I use it probably once every 4 weeks so it's very cost-effective The only other tip I can give is to make sure you have your tablet or Kindle with you to keep you occupied in the 10 minutes it takes to work

Oooh hold on, just read reviews on Boots and apparently the formula has changed recently, as has the way you apply it, and it seems a bit hit and miss - may try the Eylure one next time I buy a box

There was no rush Jo :)
Eyelure then, I'll make a note and have a look at reviews etc, thank you, I'd never thought of it :)
