That cast iron casserole dish really makes a difference I think
I cooked it on 130 degrees fan electric, for just under 3 hours The spuds went in an hour from the end, and the button mushrooms 30 mins from the end

That meringue she cooked looked fantastic too I haven't made meringues in donkeys years, I used to make pavlova sometimes, when I lived in Yorkshire quite near a PYO fruit farm

Frank I can't eat hot curry any more - acid reflux - but this casserole was fabulous. I was going to freeze two portions but Mick ate it all up

Di I did the shaking the meat into a bag with flour in to coat it, before browning, as both you and Mary suggested, and it really worked
