Poached eggs again

This was one of those smack your forehead, how come I didn't think of that?! moments.

Madhur Jaffrey, in that lovely new book I got, Curry Easy, casually mentioned that she poaches her eggs the same way she fries them - but with water instead of oil...are you doing the same, forehead-smacking thing??
I tried it, it works, 1/2" or so of water in non-stick frying pan; bring to boil then simmer, crack in egg, either cover with lid or use teaspoon to spoon over the boiling water...job done :P
Poached egg masquerading as fried, and cooked to perfection :D
Doh!

I just cannot believe I've never tried it, and never even read about it

Now just keep it quiet, and anyone who asks, you've been doing it this way for, oooh, years (whistling smiley) 8-) :P

Funnily enough I have been doing them in my frying pan lately, but with about an inch of water and lid on. That way I can do a few at a time without all that swirlling water hoo ha. I have still been adding vinegar though. Do I need to?
