I have used them for many, many years, love them for really tasty fresh veg.

My last one was dire, rubbish, pathetic. Leaked, obviously a bodge job.

Used it last night and the water all came out - all of it :o All over the worktop.

Binned it his morning and have bought another one - online - from Worten.

Arrives tomorrow :Hi:

I never could get the hang of steamers.

Things were either red hot but undercooked, but leave them a bit longer and I ended up with 'school veg' = mush. And doing things on different levels didn't help.

Dad used to like his veg with a bit of bite so things were slowly blanched. I still do veg the same way.

Bit peed off.

Because of Christmas, delivery has been delayed and I'm quite shocked at how much water there is in boiled veg, compared to what we're used to.

Looking forward to being back to steaming veg.

I used to fry bacon in a big frying pan. Lots of water used to come out of each rasher duringthe cooking.
Now I am doing the bacon in the air fryer, there is no sign of water and the bacon is done just how I like it. It is crispbut not overcooked and burnt.
It is the same with veg.
It has been worth buying it as it is quick and easy to clean. :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Jan, if you have a colander that will fit inside the top of a large pan you can use that.

I like the collapsible three tier steamers Cruiser.

I can cook all sorts of veg, done it for seven friends one year. Much easier than boiling. And as Grumpy says, it's all ready at the same time.

I have never bothered with the rice tray, might try it next time.
