It just said roasting joint but the £/kg did not match topside, brisket, etc. It was in the reduced shelves knocked down from £?? to £7.16 then again to £5.91 for 1.46kg.

Soo, some slow cooking time later (10am) I now have 6 braised beef in thick onion gravy, and four vindaloo with new potatoes boiled in.

Who's a clever boy? ;) ;)

nice one

I bought a beef roast the other day and put it in the slow cooker, but did duff it up a bit. Left it too late so cooked it on high vs low and that wasn't the best idea I've ever had, but hey.... it worked out alright and actually tastier than I thought it would.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained ;-)

I went to see Becky at her mum's yesterday and she, mum, said to cook the whole roast in the SC, let it go cold and then slice it into servings, make a thick gravy, then freeze them. She reckons I would have got a load more meals doing it that way.

Worth thinking about for smaller joints maybe.
