you know you replied on my FB thread about freezing chilli's - really daft, but do you mean just that. ie pick chilli off the shrub, wash, dry and then freeze as is, whole? Or would you chop them up first and freeze in ice cube trays?

I do just that meriad, wash & dry, put on a tray so they don't all stick together, and once frozen put into bags.
They're 'almost' the same as using fresh :)

I kind of prefer chopping one or two at a time, as I need them, to doing the whole lot but have done that too - I use my mini-chopper, add a little oil, and freeze in a silicone ice cube tray. Then as before, pop out and into bags :)
I also do that with bought jars of pesto ;)

Just read Debih's link - they do survive better when they're frozen on a tray first, although a bit on the wet side.

thanks everyone - well the ones in the oven are drying out sort of OK so I'll be chopping them up and store them in an airtight container to use as chilli flakes

the others I'll freeze - a lot easier
