Poached pears

Postby tonicha » 24 Oct 2013, 20:06

As Bente is oming round tomorrow night for dinner, I thought I'd do some poached pears - in wine

I only have granulated sugar - do I really need caster sugar? If I do, I'll have to whizz down to the village tomorrow morning and hope the shop has some, but if I can get away with granulated..... ;)

Granulated will be absolutely fine Ton, it all dissolves just the same :)

Oh that's great, thanks Di xx

Course you can Kaz - i even invited Tom, but he knows Bente and declined

She's a lovely lady, buit very hard work in that everything has to be "baby clean", she won't eat cetain foods, so I'm taking a risk doing chicken in bacon, with white beans, mash and cabbage. She wanted an "English dinner", so she's getting one

And we'll be lighting the fire just for her (and me, it was lovely and toasty last night :D )

I'm normally told beforehand what foods she's not eating that week

Changes with the wind  or her missing gallbladder is the reason, or her tummy can't have fatty foods or ....
