Battered sausage lollipops.
Make a thickish batter of choice - water, beer, tempura - and set aside.
Cook your favourite sausages as normal. Now skewer them lengthwise on bamboo sticks then roll them in plain flour and dip in the batter. Hold them in the hot oil for a few seconds then allow them to stand up resting against the side of the pan/deep fryer. When golden brown remove - they're done.
Eaten with 'dips' they make a good starter while waiting for the other stuff to burn to cinders on the BBQ.
