Syrian tragedy,

Postby KateLMead » 13 Dec 2013, 07:39

Rather than allowing this country to be swamped with Romanians etc over 105 being accommodated in a four star hotel at £125,00 a night beggars sleeping rough, pickpockets, we should do our bit close the doors and do the right thing and bring in as many as viable from Syria, if ever humanitarian aid and compassion was necessary, it is now to help these desperate children freezing and dying in sqauler.

I think the UN should be doing what they are supposed to and sorting out the rotten regime!!

I have however given to the charities who look after children there xxx

Kaz, we give more than the whole damned EU put together. A bit like the Philippines food and donated aid now being on sale in the local markets. As it was in Indonesia and other countries where we worked.. Cash? what a temptation for those in power, I would certainly have taken two or three orphans in had I been a bit younger, we had children from Chernobyl when the tragedy occurred to come and stay for a month at a time, they all had parents and homes but most had developed leukaemia. The filth these poor Syrians are suffering is beyond ones human imagination, and the disrespect shown by the Roma who are free to come here camping out in London and elsewhere, stealing, using where they sleep as a public lavatory.. Europe decreed we should take the 2m the decision makers accommodate them. Again they are not all bad, but we seem to get the rot here in UK. And hospitals and companies are advertising for them to come here to work,
The UN was always a waste of space, as is this bugbear we are forced to tolerate called Europe that has, with governments consent destroyed this country. As for Assad I could not agree with you more Kaz.. By the way has anyone seen anything of that Peace Envoy?

I am going to be hard on this and say that we should not admit Syrians, and neither should the EU. It is time their rich Arab neighbours, with whom they share a culture and religion, did their bit.

I agree. With our shambolic border controls we'd probably end up importing half of Alky Ada or whatever they are called.

Observing those scantily dressed children, barefoot, hungry in bitter weather tugs at my heart strings.. They cannot survive, and we sit back and do nothing constructive other than sending aid that gets too but a few.. I imagine myself in the place of these families and it doesn't bear thinking about. I agree about the Arabs doing their bit, sadly these people just do not want to get involved. Man's inhumanity to man...Do we simply close our eyes and pretend it ain't happening.?

Sorry but my sympathy runs out when they are living in harsh conditions, complaining about their children having no food yet still having more and more children. There were two women on the news tonight, complaining that they were having to burn plastic on their fire to keep the place warm and their 3 month old babies were suffering due to the fumes. If the food is so short and they are starving why do they think it is their right to bring more children into the world. Sorry but when they start helping themselves, maybe then we can consider helping them.

I don't think, on balance, we should allow a huge influx of Syrian refugees into this country, although it pains me to say it ..... At the moment, these people are more deserving of asylum and aid than all the Pakistanis, Indians, Chinese, Romanians, Bulgarians, Polish, Nigerians, so on, to whom we seem to allow virtually open access.

But I worry that granting indiscriminate asylum to Syrian refugees will lead to more Islamic terrorists bedding down in this country. I would also support the removing of British citizenship from any so-called fighters who have gone out there to wage war - don't let them back into this country either.
