Drunk Tank in Bristol

They are piloting this scheme in Bristol, and I guess if successful it will be rolled out across the country!

I am very much in favour, although the bit about it being in a secret location puzzled me a bit - not sure why that is necessary? :o

Lets hope its a big tank, that they won't be able to climb out of until they are sober

Sounds like a really good scheme, especially the way it leaves hospital beds and ambulances free for other non-drink related emergencies.

And if the "clients" are presented with a bill for their stay so much the better.

If they pass out on the pavement, just leave them where they lie.

No because someone like me has to walk past them. Drag them away by their feet and sling them in the tank

When we were in A&E one Friday night with Luke, I was terrified. Luke had to go for a chest x-ray and I didn't know whether to stay in the cubicle with the drunk shouting a few beds down, or face going outside and going to x-ray. The porter said you come with us we don't have drunks in x-ray. Apparently they will x-ray an extremely drunk person for a head injury, but arms, legs, etc get left until they are sober and then they tend to come back the next day. He said it takes far too long, and risks damage to the equipment and injury to the staff to force them to have an x-ray whilst drunk.

I have no patience with folk who get blind drunk.

In my opinion they should be severely punished.

We don't need people like that.
