Bercow

Do you think Bercow should go? He is a pompous twit of a man if ever there was one, his position not enhanced by his exhibitionist of a wife.. Who I wonder looks after the offspring when she is here there and every where but at home. They make a good couple, but no way in politics. In some way it shows what the House of Commons has been reduced too no more than a den for exhibitionists and rifraf
to join such Commies as Harmans old man one of those planted Union Chiefs, a Union chief yesterday an MP today.. Very interesting the recent exposure of the dirty work of Miliband and the Trades Unions (that of course he denies all knowledge of will make good reading.)

The Speaker is supposed to be impartial. Bercow is demonstrably impartial, so he should go. Whether there is any mechanism for getting rid of the Speaker I don't know (apart from tying a washing machine to his leg and throwing him into the Thames). ;)

It's basically the length of the term of Parliament, or "at her Majesty's pleasure", so she could sack him, I guess.

We haven't had a decent Speaker since "our Betty" ....

Betty Boothroyd, super individual and an excellent speaker.. As you say looking back at previous ones they have all been totally unsuitable for the job that earned each one a title whether they were good bad or indifferent. Mentioned in the Wail today that he likely has marriage problems and this is causing his irrational behaviour..

I have often wondered how things work in the House.

When an MP has finished speaking, very often a great many MPs put their hands up, wishing to speak.

How does the Speaker decide who to choose?

I find them both somewhat unstable, three children and a mother never around, and a father who it seems is irrational.. It was thanks to Labour that the fool of a man gained the position he has.
