Slough

Postby KateLMead » 24 Jun 2013, 08:31

If I could count the number of times I have written about garden sheds that are and are still being being erected in Slough for Romanians and Bulgarians to live in I could fill a page, these shed are in the gardens of fellow countrymen who charge rents for the appalling conditions the men women and children are living in. I first wrote about this some eight years ago when I used to go through Slough on my way to my offices in London,
the country is rife with beggars pickpockets including children. Now the government finally acknowledges the problem having spent a fortune on a spy plane, and a fortune given to Slough Council to do something about the problem.

How is this still going on?

It must be at least three years ago since a TV documentary brought this activity to the attention of the Home Office, police and Slough and Southall councils.

Streets, properties and landlords were identified in the programme, which had camera access to some of the sheds and garages, and interviewed some of those living there. Somebody (pl) have not been doing the jobs they are paid to do.

I guess the statement by Ray Haslam, head of environmental services and resilience for Slough Borough Council, says it all:
'Our primary concern is making sure people aren’t living in unsafe conditions, with little or no heating, or in places that do not comply with building or fire safety regulations.

Sorry Mr Haslam, but your primary concern should be that people are not breaking the law, and it they are, to prosecute them. If they are here illegally, deport them, same with the 'landlords'.

The main three parties are quite happy for this sort of thing to go on, they just aren't happy for the population at large to get to know about it. As long as people keep voting the way they always have, nothing will change. I am convinced that one aspect of Cameron's proposal to relax the planning rules on house extensions was to enable the government to legally turn a blind eye to this practice.
So now we have parts of towns and cities in this country that resemble third world slums. Well done to our lovely politicians. They didn't ought to send a spy plane next time, they ought to hire a Lancaster bomber..

LOL Cromwell. Cannot deport them they are free to come here ...
A couple of million more expected this next year, all given the info with respect to claiming benefits, lawyers at the ready to defend their Uman Rites.. What is so shocking are the homeless living on river banks under tarpaulin and under bridges, evidently the one approaching Heath row is full of them at nights, and others living rough in parks and on the underground tunnels.. What a second rate third world this country has been turned into.. Homeless along with outr esx army boys, and there will be more to come as Cameron throws them on the scrap heap.
