There are lots more poor people in the world than there are rich.
The poor people would like what the rich people have.
So they go to the rich countries.
And if you don't stop them, they will keep coming.
The end.

And they have different cultures.

And different religions.

And they come from conflict zones we do not have.

And they come from both sides, so bring their conflicts to our streets.

I'll shut up now or there will be a knock on my door in the wee hours: "Excuse me sir, but did you say this... We need to talk about 'hate speech' you understand?"

It is a valid concern although as you are not breaking the law in other areas I suggest you won't get a visit..... Yet.

Cromwell has it right and it is something I have been saying for a long time now. The moment they added "to escape poverty" to the end of conflict etc, the floodgates started to open.

Given that nearly half of the 8bn people in the world live in "poverty" compared to living in the UK, should we expect that a few billion come here to enjoy our "lack of poverty"???

And if they do come will they not drive all of us into poverty rather than escape it themselves?

Two weeks ago thirty Albanians were fighting in Kirkgate, Wakefield, with weapons. Years ago such a thing would have been unthinkable.
