The minister appointed by starmer to look into corruption in the financial sector is herself along with other family members under investigation in Bangladesh for corruption. How ironic.
£4 mil apparently when signing off on a Russian build nuclear power station

This was known in 2013 when she met Putin. In 2015 she became an MP - how? Money, contacts? She is now the Treasury's Economic Secretary responsible for tackling corruption in UK financial markets. What are her qualifications - apart from knowing about corruption? Oh, a PPE and one in English Literature.

i despair at how all political parties select their Ministers and shadows.

It seems to be not what you know but who you know.

Very few if any MPS have actualy worked in a factory or other businesses. They do not understand what it entails to operate a business and make a profit
so that the business can expand.

I go into a smallcafe for a pot of tea. It is ownwd bytwo siters and gives good friendly service. There are a lot of regular customers.
THey may have to put their prices up because of what Reeves has done.

There have been calls for new MPs to undergo a criminal records check, now known as a DBS check.

I would go further and have all MPs, old and new, to be checked before they are sworn in.

In fact I would go even further and have all those who wish to become an MP (or councillor, Police & Crime Commissioner) to be checked before they can even stand as a candidate.

Of course no political party will travel that road as there could be quite a few rejections, but if it is good enough for care workers and shop workers then why not MPs etc.?
