That's tough, Saundra, it must be that Bridlington is a "Crown Post Office". They are usually in major city centres.
I did check, and thankfully our local High Street one isn't listed.

There's a full list of branches at risk here if anyone's interested:

Our little village post office closed nearly two years ago, it’s been a big loss to many around here as it was always busy.
I usually use the Royal Mail collection service for anything I need to post now as our nearest town centre post office always has a ridiculously long queue and just one person serving.
Pay online (at a reduced cost), book a collection for a day which suits and the postie collects from the door, and even brings a postage label.

We're quite lucky, we have the main Post Office in town on the High Street, and a small franchised Post Office counter at the One Stop shop on Broad Robin (that's a street name!!) about 10 minutes walk from home.
I use both, they are a Godsend for drawing cash out of the bank because the nearest bank branches are now 25 miles away and the ATMs here in town reportedly constantly malfunction ..... :|

We are losing four Crown post offices in Leeds - two in the outskirts and two in the city centre. The two in the centre are always rammed and that makes me suspect that the P.O. excuse of branches not being profitable rings hollow.

All the ones in Leeds are in high rent shopping centres and I think that is where the truth lies.
