Paperless Banking

I cannot now access my on-line banking without being told that I'm going paperless, whether I like it or not.
Well I'm sorry, I prefer paper bank statements through the post, and I only use online banking because they've closed the local branch and I've no other way of efficiently making certain payments.
So now when I go into online banking, I have to reset all the communication preferences back to receiving paper.
Right pain in the backside.
Why don't they just leave things alone? Those folk that are happy with paperless, fine, go paperless. Us oldies who prefer paper, leave us alone and stop forcing us into a change we don't want.
(This is the second major bank where I've hit this problem, but at least the first didn't change me to paperless every time I logged on .......)
