Vanishing scandals

In the UK we have had a series of scandals, of bad news stories many of which involve the British state. They have become so numerous that even the conservative leaning Daily Telegraph has published articles listing how many there have been, and how badly officials have acted.
Biggest of the lot (and the quickest to disappear) is the tainted blood scandal. Contaminated blood was given to patients from the 1970's to the late 1990s, under both shades of government. At a childrens home for haemophiliacs children were injected with contaminated blood. "The children were often regarded as objects for research", says the Infected Blood Inquiry.
Doctors, NHS management and a succession of politicians all lied and denied for years whilst people died. Biggest scandal ever.
Then we've got the Horizon IT Post Office scandal. Innocent sub postmasters driven to their death, jailed, losing their good name whilst all the time Post Office managers lied and persecuted people who had done nothing wrong.
Then there is the lower level bad news stuff like the small boats, etc.
All pushed out of the news by the announcement of a general election.
