How to be silenced.

And get arrested.

Hold up a sign saying "Not my King". Call out "Andrew, you're a sick old man" (he is). Ask "Who voted for you?" (nobody) or just hold up a blank piece of paper.

Most of us Republicans have respected the Queen's death by either being quiet or avoiding the media's OTT effusiveness. She was a wonderful Queen for the UK and Commonwealth, we accept that.

But come on. Can't people be allowed a peaceful other view without being criminalised?

What are the authorities so worried about to use such a heavy-handed approach?

I accept that I am in a minority on VV and do not try to offend any Monarchists or Royalists, but it does appear that we Republicans are fair game for criticism without facts.

Probably, depending on the circumstances, some of it is to prevent a breach of the peace. If you are in the middle of a grieving crowd and you start shouting stuff that the crowd doesn't like, then the police might arrest you to stop trouble from breaking out.
That said (and this may not be a popular view) imo the Queen was a high water mark for the monarchy.
With her gone the monarchy is in some danger. Charles has a long track record of sticking his nose into politics and a long history of lecturing people on climate change whilst simultaneously flying many miles in private jets and driving around in cars powered by a big V8.
Charles could become rather unpopular rather quickly and maybe some high ups are rather nervous about this, hence the arrests.
