I see the US has just had a Congressional hearing, so pretty high up the food chain, investigating these unknowns. It is interesting that since 2004 the US has collected 144 incidents from military and airline pilots and have seen them on radar and other sensitive monitoring systems but cannot be explained. They have even had 11 near-misses with real physical objects. They also have a small number of events in which there are flight characteristics or signature management that cannot be explained with the recorded data that is currently available.

They do not think that they are military from an adversary.

I know that the MOD takes these things seriously because I have been involved in the reporting process as an Orderly Corporal when a sighting was allegedly made.

Since the 1930's we have been broadcasting live video with sufficient power to exit our solar system. It will have tailed off with the Satellite era, but there was a long enough period where we were blasting out powerful signals into space.

If anyone was out there and they were listening and they have the technology, then there are plenty of nearby worlds which could have made the crossing in time to come "see what was up".

I'm assuming it would not be from our own solar system as the remainder of the planets are not really hospitable to life as we know it. But, then again, life doesn't always need to be "as we know it".

Bringing this back because it has just been announced that NASA is going on a UFO hunt.

This is a break from previous "investigations" whose main purpose seemed to be to deny or disbelieve any sort of sightings - think Project Blue Book.

This time NASA is setting up a team of scientists to explore UAPs / UFOs without prejudice by sifting through the data and even going out looking for them rather than waiting for reports to come in.

An interesting quote:

The report said US defence and intelligence analysts lacked sufficient data to determine the nature of UAPs observed by military pilots, including whether they are advanced earthly technologies, atmospherics or of an extraterrestrial origin.

It seems that the increase in these UAP reports follows the level of things we do in space and that now some serious people are asking the hard questions.

I used to work with someone who was previously in the RAF as a radar operator.
After an incident over the North Sea which he was tracking he is convinced that there are UFOs.
The day after this particular incident officials from the MOD turned up and confiscated the evidence.

Well that stuff happens. Less than a few hours after the Pentagon strike in 9/11, the FBI turned up at the Continental hotel whose security camera overlooked the path of the craft that hit the pentagon. It vanished and has never surfaced again.

Probably because no such hotel exists, there is a view here but it is not very clear.

Do you have an address for this 'Continental' hotel with the missing CCTV? Do give us a link. It has to be west of the Pentagon because that is where Flight 77 came from, over Arlington cmty.

I met someone who worked with defence contracts who had driven past the Pentagon less than 2 minutes before the strike.

I asked, rather innocently, if he saw anything. The body language after the "no" was interesting to say the least.
