To buy my lateral flow test 5 pack. One per family, organised by the government.
€6.99.
The message is clear, before you go and celebrate new year, test yourself. If you test positive, stay at home.
Not a bad move. Quite responsible really.
Interesting to know what they really cost.

LFTs are free here (if available), and you get a result in about 30 mins. Your result can then be registered online and added to your app (if you have one). Test +ve but register as -ve, eh?
Probably works for commercial gatherings - pubs, clubs, theatres, cinemas etc - but for families and neighbours?
A lot of N.Y. meetings will be informal, so I am not wholly convinced.
We are having some fireworks and mulled wine on the green out the back, as usual, and nobody will be asked for a test result. We stand apart from each other and chat, and the children have their play area away from us crusties. We are as safe as we would be if we were all tested.

We're going to a raclette night amongst friends tonight. We have decided that everyone will take LFT beforehand. Although any one of us could simply pour on the control fluid without testing.
We're not like that though and we are all triple jabbed.
