Military coup in Myanmar.

Aung San Suu Kyi has been toppled, but it is not that surprising. She has gone from the darling of freedom movements to one with questionable ethics. There is a steely and darker side to her than the one she portrayed during her years under house arrest.
Her handling of the Rohingya crisis would have been loudly condemned from all quarters had it been done by a Pol Pot or a Mugabe, but it was being done by the beautiful and frail Suu Kyi so it was let go.
Absolute power corrupts, absolutely, and this appears to be the case here. These are troubled times for Myanmar and the wider region. We must all hope that it is controlled and contained.
