Bercow to stand down.

Now that is news to please ever so many people, not least because of his 'performances' of late.

However, it has a feeling of him being pushed with the announcement that the Conservatives would ditch the convention of allowing the Speaker to stand unopposed in his Commons constituency during a general election.

I hope that he is not tempted to play the silly burger, but with there being so much animosity between him and some members of the Tory party who knows? He is certainly in that position if he so wishes.

He was apparently told that the Conservatives would put up a candidate against him at the next GE rather than letting him go through unopposed as is the usual practice. He has had a good innings and has previously said he would stand down, not sure if it was supposed to be two years ago, but somehow he just can't tear himself away from the power rush the HoC seems to give him. I wont be sorry to see the back of him, although he is so vain and pompous I often found him very entertaining. Jeremy Corbyn was full of gushing sycophantic praise, which no doubt increased his vanity even further.

He almost shed a few tears at one point, but I had no sympathy for him, I just thought, get on with it man, you have been jabbering long enough.

Frank, if he can play silly burgers before he heads off towards the EU, he will almost certainly do so. He is not a man to go quietly without ruffling a good few feathers.

His bad tempered outburst in Parliament yesterday reveals the true bullying nature of the man.
