Atheists are morally depraved.

It is what the BBC is reporting. It offers proof here.

I find the whole thing is based on confirmation bias: Come up with an hypthesis and then look for proof to back it up.

As an Atheist I do not believe in a God, nor do I see a need for a God, but that does not mean I am devoid of morals. I would argue that in many ways my morals are superior to those whose morals are based on a religion and their belief in a God. Theirs are based upon an ideology and a God, of whom they have no proof, and what that ideology tells them is right.

Mine are based on what I observe in my daily life and how I would wish others to treat me as I do them. They are in no way inferior to anyone else's.

Morally depraved I certainly am not.

Jesus, a Jew, did not tell the people to go to the Temple and worship Yahweh. He told people to go out and be better people, not more devout worshipers.

In fact, Jesus, the founder of what we now know as modern Christianity, would not recognise this position at all. He didn't care how slavishly you allied yourself to a "religion", her wanted people to open their eyes and put themselves in the position of others, then act accordingly.

My personal belief is that were the "millennium" to come, as was promised in the Dark Ages, and Christ return, he would be totally horrified by what his teachings had become...

I am very open-minded on this subject.

I don't recall my parents ever going to church, but they sent me to Sunday School, and were pleased when I
joined the church choir. There is no doubt in my mind that the effects of my years of church-going has had
a beneficial effect on me throughout the years, but I cannot say for certain how much of the goodness in me
is due to my parents, and how much can be attributed to my Christian beliefs.

With regard to atheists and believers in other religions, I have no difficulty in associating with them, providing
their lives are conducted in a manner not too alien to Christianity.
