Acid attacks

Seem to be increasing in London right now. This is a particularly vicious and awful type of crime about which there has been very little publicity until recently. It strikes me that there are areas of London that I would not live in if I were paid £1000 a week. Also last night a man was stabbed to death in Greenwich, London by two attackers on a moped in an incident in which shots were also fired.

I'm glad I live where I do, well away from London.

I do not have any idea how to stop these attacks.

What worries me is the media infatuation with acids when the most readily available corrosive liquids are alkali, and the treatments for the two, if identified, are different.

My training says the first aid method is to remove contaminated clothing, asap, and then flush and keep flushing the area with water until medical treatment arrives.

These sorts of attack are particularly horrible.

In the Birmingham area there is also now an increase in knife attacks, mainly by young males.

What is going wrong with society?

It soon won't be safe to go anywhere.
