So it's Feb is it?

According to the BBC and the EU, we could trigger A50 in Feb.

Erm, after the Inauguration of the new US President then?? Is she hoping it will be Trump? I've said for quite a while now that it makes no sense whatsoever to trigger A50 with a Lame Duck president in the US, still sitting, who does not like the UK, able to poison the process as it starts and set US attitudes to the whole deal.

We'll see.

Ah but, triggering it early could have presented the incoming President with a 'fait accompli' and forced him/her to deal with it.

That option has been cast aside, but I do not think it was ever much of a concern anyway. The whole mood music has always been about getting what is best for the UK out of Brexit, and rightly so. Whether A50 should have been triggered immediately, my choice, or after a time of reflection, will always be open to debate. The fact is that we will never know because history will teach us that it happened in 20??.
