But in fairness he is probably right to do so.
Every utterance he made from the backbenches would be pounced on by the media, especially if he disagreed with government policy.
I just hope that he keeps his word, following the interview he gave after announcing his resignation as an MP, and slips quietly out of politics, unlike Tony B'Liar.
