The arrogance of Remainers in Cameron's government ...

Postby Workingman » 16 Jul 2016, 10:39

... is astounding.

Oliver Letwin, who was saked by May, has come out and criticised the Brexit Ministry for not having negotiators for Brexit. The bloody cheek of the man! He and Dave left them in the EU thinking that we would remain.

The country went through months of referendum 'campaigning' with the result always on a knife edge. Any normal administration would have at least made proto-plans for either result, but not Dave's. He and Olly and Gideon were so sure that we would remain that they apparently did not even look at the alternative. So now, in attempting to cover up their incompetence, they are criticising those having to pick up the pieces.

A damned good flogging is too good for some politicians.

Publicly and Naked too...

Their arrogance is not beyond belief though. Just par for the Elite course. Although I do think May's first speech was the start of an election campaign which may be sooner rather than later.

I hope the reports in the media that the exit from the European Union could be delayed to appease Scotland are not true. The UK voted for Brexit so Theresa May has a duty to implement the mandate. If Nicola Sturgeon cannot accept the majority UK vote, then she if free to try and negotiate what she feels best serves the people of Scotland. A referendum was clearly in the manifesto of the Conservative Party when the Scottish referendum was held. The result could have gone either way, but the Scots voted to remain part of the UK.

Everyone wants to take a pause and draw breath. The only people shouting for triggering A50 and triggering it IMMEDIATELY are the politicians of the EU. Which is an excellent reason not to do it quite yet.

May will have to pull back from that promise but Sturgeon will get the blame, of course. Why I don't know. Sturgeon is clear, "Not on my watch if I can avoid it". So why even bother trying to bring her onboard? To gain time can be the only reason I can think of..
