Hamas is a terrorist organisation, the Palestinians have to live with the assaults and retaliation from Israel who have the weapons and are using them, killing children, innocents and women. Whatever Hamas does it is no match for the Israelis who have serious weapons and are using them.
It is a shocking state of affairs, I wonder whether Hamas and the Israelis want peace,
The Israelis have taken lands in Gaza making families homeless.bombing schools and hospitals,
Mans inhumanity to man.. "There are no winners"

Having lived in Jordan for several years I am fully aware of the true situation and my views are rather different from that of most people`s who have never been there. I was also fully conscious of the situation which developed in 1947/8 which again many people are not or choose to forget about.
Now we cannot hope to suppress the forces of islam they are far too strong and the best we can hope to do is contain them but we have already blown that by letting so many settle in this country eg 200 mosques around Birmingham where one would be one too many.
For FGM I wish some ladies would get together, grab some protagonists, hold them down and do a nice bit of penis chopping. :)

What a terrifying thought. I pray that you are wrong, pederito, God help us if you are right.

Sorry Kate, I have to take exception to this here.

I was typing a reply this morning when my internet connection went down and I lost it.

What Are Israel doing? They are using WWII Artillery with 21st century aiming devices which make a level of precision never dreamed of by the WWII artillery regiments. They are putting their own troops on the ground and losing lives in the process.

Why?

Because to use their truly powerful 21st century weapons to destroy these tunnels would mean wholesale destruction of wide areas of land. Massive destruction of buildings and, if the people don't leave, not dozens or hundreds dead, but thousands dead.

They are putting their own soldiers lives at risk for no other reason than to save the lives of Palestinians who are being used as shields by Hamas.

Go look for that in the press. You won't find it.

Believe me, the difference between an artillery shell and a 2,000 lb bunker buster bomb dropped by an aircraft or an even larger bunker buster bomb dropped by a missile is orders of magnitude more dangerous and destructive than the precision shelling which is going on.

I truly hate the shoddy and biased way that the press put over what is going on. Israel has no option but to do something to stop Hamas. Hamas, on the other hand has every option in the world. Starting with choosing to stop murdering Israeli civilians.

Honestly, this will never end because Hamas will never stop murdering Israeli's until they have every last one out of Israel. My views on this are clear. If I was in charge of Israel, I'd create a new island in the med, populate it with enough earth to farm land, give them green energy and green desalination for water, state of the art sewage treatment and then I'd empty every Palestinian from the border grounds of Israel onto the Island. Then I'd turn the ground emptied into a Unesco wildlife park/forest and I'd patrol the borders. Anyone trying to get in or out of it shot on sight.

End of story. End of reason for strife. End of excuse. End of Hamas using Palestinian civilians as hostages.

Of course it will never happen and the murder and counter strikes will continue for ever.

Then again, the Jewish race are used to the rest of the world casually abusing and murdering their people. It happened for 2,000 years. At least they have a homeland again.

I have no sympathy with the Palestinians. Hamas are a bunch of red handed murderers and the majority of the population of the Palestinian territories support them in that murder but bleat when they suffer the consequences. I also won't listen to them hiding behind women and children.

After all, who reviled the Christians in Beirut for all those long years of war? Or the Moslems? Nobody. Yet far more people were killed. It's very easy to blame the Israeli's for this action. Yet we moan and complain that our troops are being murdered in Afghanistan and when civilians are caught in the cross fire of our troops defending themselves it's "acceptable". I'm sorry but the Moslem murderers in Afghanistan are the same as Hamas. We have a right to fight back even though it's only our troops who are being killed, not our civilians. The Israelis do not? Sorry but that's not working for me.

Yep I'd go for that too. Except these are Women doing this.

Personally If it was me I'd mandatorily sterilise the whole family. If you can't breed you can't pass on this barbaric trait. In the end you die out. Given that these families are usually all about breeding for "the future", it tends to cut them off.

I know, I'm being hard nosed. What did all the others do to deserve being sterilised? Barbaric isn't it? Well, maybe not in comparison.....

And people want Israel to stop. see this New Zealand article.

And Palestinian rocket fire continued, with 22 striking the Jewish state after the reported truce went into effect, an army spokeswoman told news agency AFP, adding that another five were intercepted.

"They are violating their own ceasefire," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told CNN.

In a separate interview with CBS, he said Israel would not allow "a ruthless terror organisation ... to decide when it's convenient for them to stop for a moment, rearm, and continue firing on our citizens and our people".

This is what it's really about. Why don't I see that on the BBC? Oh I forgot, they're to busy running programs showing us how difficult it is to observe Ramadan in the UK this year......

Sky News, I know, but bear with me, ran a piece on Gazan rockets. Some 2,300 have been fired in 20 days, of which Israel has shot down about 500. That is about 1,800 that got through Israel's Iron Dome defences (I rounded the numbers) so about one in five. It is not mentioned on the UK's main news outlet, the BBC, nor on ITN or C4. The Sky reporter, Sam Kiley, also had a graphic showing the Hamas tunnel networks from Gaza to Israel. These things do happen/exist, but most news networks do not report them.

I would also like to hear some condemnation of the Hamas rockets from Arab countries or the Moslem world. At least we in the West have governments who openly criticise their ally, Israel. Why no condemnation from the Moslem world?
