and people take the conditions existing in their childhood as being the norm. This
results, over a period of time, in gradual but relentless changes in values and behaviour.

The older one gets, the greater are the changes that have taken place, not all for the
better. Accepting them is hard. No-one listens to their elders now like they once did.
