Kaz it may not be where you live but it was exactly that in Linconshire. It drove the 70% to 75% Leave vote. My daughters won't shop within 5 miles of Boston now and that it entirely due to the hassle they get from Eastern European EU immigrants/work migrants.
This is like the Islamic problem we have. MY BIL lives in Scotland, in the country, just outside Dundee. He cannot even begin to contemplate the issues in Leeds/Bradford, South Yorkshire, Lancashire and North Lincolnshire.
People voted to leave the EU for many reasons. My own personal view is that the key driver tipping the balance was Austerity as a result of the financial crisis and the EU intransigence in the wake of it; finally brought to the notice of the people by social media and some of the press outlets.
There is no way you can't say that EU immigration didn't drive this. Immigration was a key factor in the vote and honest reporting of hundreds of thousands more NI numbers being issued to EU citizens, than EU citizens reported in the country, was a big driver.
Kaz, you and WM didn't vote leave. I didn't only because I refused to apply for my rightful vote and I did that because I felt that anyone who had actually left the UK did not deserve to determine the future direction of the UK. However I have a lot of family members and friends who did vote leave. I have talked to them. I know that EU immigration and pervasive borders was a really big issue. Even though the press constantly said it was not!
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.
