Doctors and nurses work in an environment where simply breathing on a patient who is ill may cause a problem with a wound or where they are susceptible to infection. It is a good precaution for general infection. That being said, they are being infected daily in hospital due to this belief that these simple medical masks confer some kind of protection against viral infections.

They do not. For that you need gloves, clothes, hermetic masks with filters, face protectors and a scrub room to ensure you remove all potential infected material before touching you bare skin. Exactly what the staff in China in the isolation hotel my son was in are wearing! Not doctors, not Nurses, simply the staff. That is what people, serious about 0% transmission of the virus, are wearing.

The proof is in the pudding. Rely on masks, no googles and no gloves, horrendous levels of infection and sickness; caught in the hospitals.

Even then I wasn't talking about inside. I was talking about people outside or in their cars. I fully understand two people in cars for work purposes. But in that scenario the masks will only lower the threat, not remove it.

People walking down the street, on their own, nobody around, wearing a mask? Fear.
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.
