It is begriming to look as though what many of us are willing to accept is already under way. Sunak's pre-budget statement was just confirmation. The Department for International Development.(Dfid) was merged with the Foreign Office earlier this year to end the 'cashpoint in the sky' system and the 0.7% of GDP target will be removed from law.
Foreign Aid will not end, though, but it will be more targeted at areas of real need. I think most of us can live with that.
