And let us not forget the Scots sold into indentured servitude Post Culloden. Both forced and selling themselves because there was no other option but to starve and for your family to starve.

If we want to rip the cover off that kind of history, let's do it All the way.

Wholesale murder in the Highlands, clearances, Lords first night after the wedding.

There are a whole bucketful of grievences which could be aired.

Or, on the other hand, we could say "aren't we so lucky that we grew through that" and be thankful that the UK is one of the most enlightened countries in the world and that many very rich people from trading, In these days, turned to philanthropy and used their money for good.

Or not. We can just destroy things. After all any barbarian can do that, little effort required.
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.

We can't judge people who lived 100 or 200 years ago. Most people of the same generations thought the same way then. We should be proud of how far we have come and how far we can go if we work together and respect each other. I wonder how we will be judged in 100 years time. I am sure there will be much to criticise.

I hope they leave Winston where he is and he doesn't get damaged in any way.

People who didn't fall asleep in history lessons are talking about the Nubians selling what are now Somalis and Ethiopians to the Egyptians as slaves and then, themselves, becoming slaves. Mongols and Chinese and vice-versa. Romans. South American civilisations enslaving their own peoples and others. And let us not forget the African tribes from the Congo and Mali rounding up the fit and healthy from other tribes and 'selling' them on to the Portuguese, Spanish, French and Dutch slave traders, as well as to the British, on what was known as the 'Slave Coast' - modern Nigeria to Senegal.

Slavery has been with us for aeons and still exists today, but in more acceptable forms- sweat-shops for our cheap fashion / phones. It is not a white, British or American thing.

And indeed the English people from the south coast who were taken in raids by the Corsairs from the Barbary Coast and sold into slavery.

The trouble with 99% of these people chuntering on about our wicked history is that they know so little history themselves.
