Say what you like...

... so long as "they" approve what you say.

Faceache, others will follow, have decided to ban the British National Party, Nick Griffin, Britain First, the English Defence League and the National Front. Their posts will no longer be allowed. Meanwhile members of Militant, Momentum, the Socialist Workers' Party, Solidarity, Communists and the Workers' Revolutionary Party etc are allowed to spew their bile unrestrained.

This is all wrong. Who gave these (unelected and unknown) people the right to decide what we read, write, say or hear? Who decides that right = bad, left = good or vice-versa?

By all means censor their posts that foster hate, but don't just ban for banning's sake. We need to know what these groups are saying / doing so that they can be challenged by us normal people otherwise they will go underground and become even more extreme.

Curtailing freedom of speech is a slippery slope.

I agree that's a big danger - as the recent business with National Action and the MP Rosie Cooper shows. National Action was "banned" - it merely then started flying beneath the radar.

I would have more confidence in these social media companies' actions if, alongside the usual right-wing extremists, they undertook the wholesale banning of anti-Semite agitators, for example.
