Probably not. There are three million Muslims in the country, half of whom were born abroad. Their birth rate is higher than ours.

Plus every mainstream party (and big business) is massively in favour of more immigration, some of which will be Muslim. In fact there are signs now that the lunacy of "open borders" is becoming more politically acceptable. The Greens openly advocate it; the LibDems are making reference to an "open" society, echoing George Soros' Open Foundation. Labour refuse to put a number on immigration.

So we have a growing Muslim population and therefore being brutally logical, a bigger pool of potential Muslim extremists.

Is there any political will to crack down on Muslim extremists?

No, imo. The only thing that seems to be being floated is to crack down on the internet. Such measures can and will also be used to crack down on right-wingers just as much if not more as Muslim extremists.

Because the die is cast. All political parties want more immigration. This increases the number of potential jihadis.

So will terrorist attacks continue? Yes they will.

Can any government prevent all of them? No.

Will people like this? No.

Will anybody suggesting that vigils, flowers and weepy songs aren't going far enough be condemned as a right wing racist? Yes.

The people who run this country know they can't stop terrorist attacks, but they don't want to admit why they can't.
That is why they are trying to normalise these attacks as far as possible, by praising the bravery of ordinary people and the emergency services, by saying how quickly everything has got back to normal, but most of all by showing a constant unwavering tide of propaganda dressed as news showing you the "appropriate" way to behave after an atrocity. Cry, hold a flower, sing a sad song, go to a concert where slebs will sing about love overcoming hate.

It's why they are so desperate to shut down any other sources of news, the sources that may not agree with them.

I notice that in among all the hand holding, minute silences and stories of bravery and dedication the message for us not to overreact is still being pushed, so somebody must be worried.

34 people have been murdered on UK soil in only a few weeks and their deaths have been met with national restraint. I cannot even begin to dream what the reaction would be if some nut job blew themselves up outside a mosque while mingling with the faithful leaving Friday prayers.

One to watch.

Police say they are not treating it as a terrorist incident.

I'd like to know what kind of incident they are treating it as then...

Not a lot of hard facts to be going on.

It reminds me of one of those "Boy, 5, falls off bike, grazes knee. Mother in tears." headlines.

What is a bit worrying is the reaction (overreaction) of local schools (plural) - lockdown. OK, a woman was beaten in broad daylight, for reasons unknown, and that is more than wrong, but to go from that to "terrorist incident", as some did, shows how twitchy we are becoming.

Arm cut from wrist to elbow too. Not quite just a beating.

Treated at the scene by medics and then driven round by police to see if her attackers were still about.

That does not sound like the sort of "stabbing" the headline implies.

I am not denying the seriousness of the attack just pointing out how easy it is in the current climate to view every incident as the start of some terrorist action. That is what the terrorists want us to do.

True but I'd like to keep on this one to find out how it is handled. Softly or as firmly as it deserves?
