First the sticking plaster falls off

Postby Suff » 29 Jul 2016, 20:29

The next thing you know the wheels are sitting on the side of the road and the bus is lying on it's chassis.

What am I talking about? This.

Now on the surface it seems like a pretty normal thing, stressed bank runs out of cash and has to be recaptialised. It happens and, normally, things go on.

But let's stop for a second and re-think this. For the last 6 years the ECB has been doing stress testing on all the major banks in the EU. These stress tests are supposed to simulate another situation like the Global Financial Crisis and the banks are supposed to carry enough capital and assets to weather it without damaging investors.

Every Major EU bank has passed pretty much every ECB stress test.

So, I wonder, how does a truly major Bank in Italy pass the stress test whilst being in the middle of a recaptialisation "three times" since 2014. Note this is not a sale of assets, this is a sale of debt on which the major part will have to be financed by paying interest on it.

In the words of the article..

The health of the lender poses a threat to the wider Italian banking system, the euro zone's fourth largest

So that would be a prime candidate for passing a stress test right?

So who is lying to whom and how many lies have been told which are going to come home to roost? Italy is the Euro Zones third largest economy. Fully $2 Trillion. Italy has recorded virtually 0% growth since the 1990's and it's banking system is in chaos.

All is not well in the state of the Euro Zone. Yet the UK is the one in trouble. Apparently... The BOE talks of "A stitch in Time". We may yet see Brexit as a whole wardrobe of "stitches in time"....

What has this to do with us?

We were never in the Euro and we are about to exit the EU - were we ever in it - properly?

We do not get all het-up about how the USA, China, Russia, Vanuatu or some Pacific atoll deal with their banks. Why worry about the EU? Yes, what they do might impact us, but what they do is their business - we have no control whatsoever. It is time to get over all this navel gazing regarding Europe.

We are now the free and independent UK, or will be soon. Rejoice! Brexitopia is upon us. What the rest of the world does is not our problem. Onwards and upwards. That is what we were sold. Vote Leave, and the sun will rise in the West, so we did. But if it doesn't it is not the Leavers' fault, they will blame everyone else, as they are doing.

Pathetic.

Yep but this is just more of the lies we were told about the remain option. It was all good and fuzzy and warm and....

Significantly broken mess which we, as the second larges economy in the EU would have been expected to prop up.

I like to keep track of the lies. On both sides.

Lies we were told by the remain option, good one.

Brexiteeers always told the truth, the whole truth and noting but the truth, did they? No!

The leavers told some of the biggest lies and then promised some of the biggest fantasies to get their way. They won.

So, given that both sides were as bad as each other, we now have to live with the winner.s The winners now have to deliver, and to do that they have to stop, right now, telling us why they cannot deliver. I could not care less about their excuses of the whys and wherefores of who is stopping them from evoking Brexitopia. I want their promises fulfilled.

Had us remainers won the leavers would be asking exactly the same questions of us sanctimonious **ats, and rightly so. Turn the tables and they do not like it. Cry babies.

Do I despise them, will I let them off the hook? Of course I will, I am a reasonable remainer without the need of excuses for my side's failure.

I did say on both sides.

But now everyone is focusing on the Brexiters and what was promised but will not be delivered. Everyone wants to forget that the remainers also lied their asses off and they're getting off scot free because all the focus is elsewhere and nobody is sitting down and taking tally of how many of their promises and threats are unravelling.

I'm just pointing that out.

Both of them need a good kicking but all the kicking is only happening to the winners. We should also highlight the story of the losers for the next time we have to go through a similar charade.

We should not forget any of it. But there are plenty out there who want us to forget some...

Remainers lies can not not be proved, we lost. Leavers lies can now be put in the spotlight and tested because leave won.

Oh boy, are they turning out to BIG lies! But hey, we are now having to live with them. That is probably why everyone and everything is to be blamed for things not working out. Bless.

Was it Hitler who said something like that to be a good liar you had to have a good memory? Leavers are suffering amnesia, Remainers are not.
