Didn't you know it's only the Christian 1st world that has to apologise for coming out on top.... I've said, forever, that we should decline.

In some ways I do get their point. WE are over THERE bombing the crap out of IS to try and shut down this issue. Which is, in fact, making it worse in the short term.

However there should be some kind of generic statement about distancing the "religion" from the actions. But, again, Christians don't have the whole concept of "holy war" written into the bible. Christians have "turn the other cheek". Makes it kind of hard to understand a culture which has "destroy the heathen bastards" written into their "bible". #2 son told me that he could understand the way they are, he read the English translation of the Quran and told me it's the most bloodthirsty book he's ever read.

I can see them not wanting to get involved and also not wanting to bring down the crazies on them. They have a lot to learn and it's going to have to be learned the hard way. Sadly they don't have the 700 or so years it took us to learn the lesson today. We want them to evolve now, after all we've sold them all those good which makes them modern. Right?

Also, Kate, I agree about Moslems and the good work that some parts of the community do. The world is not divided into good people and Moslems. We should not forget our own sectarian violence, I never did understand how "turn the other cheek" could be turned into the violence we have seen in the UK amongst people who claimed to be good Christians. Godlians more like but certainly not Christians.

The main thing I mourn, outside of the lives lost, are the restrictions that these actions are going to place on our lives. All those fears of the "police state" and we may eventually get there through sheer necessity rather and political intrigue...
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.
